Review Contractors’ safety files for approval prior to teams arrival on site to perform activities for the Client. Assist medical personnel in facilitating medical surveillances (entry and periodical). Train employees on Health, Safety & Environmental legal requirement, hazard identification/analysis, reporting and control procedures, safe working procedures and practices through inductions, internal training and HSE campaigns. Assess competence. Assist the organization in maintaining the HSE Management System in accordance with the OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001. Manage all injuries and ill health incidents on site, i.e. reporting, investigation and ensuring all required documentation is completed. Participate and liaise with external parties, e.g. the Departments of Labour, Environmental Affairs etc. Compile files and submit reports according to internal and external client requirements. Develop audit schedules, facilitate and conduct HSE audits. Manage non-conformance and incident reporting and investigation processes by compiling and maintaining appropriate documentation. Identify training needs in conjunction with other departments in the organization. Assist and advice line managers with SHEQ compliance issues as per the Clients’ SHEQ specifications. Support and participate in the management of access control where applicable. Continuous identification of training needs during site walk-abouts, monitoring and observations. Enforce compliance to legal requirements, e.g. right to stop dangerous work etc. Ensure all legal appointments are valid according to legislative requirements. Conduct plant and equipment inspections, report findings to management and follow up on reports as required by legislation.
