Management of Occupational health and safety systems DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: •Do on site inductions for visitors on site •Do on bench inspections •Conduct Planned task observations. •Do monthly safety inspections. •Chairperson of the health and safety committee of the mine. •Inspect the safety of equipment being used and other work performed to make sure all safety measures in place are carried out well •Train employees on safety •Conduct inductions to every employee annually •Preventative Safety maintenance •Corrective Safety maintenance •Give appropriate instructions regarding health & safety •Root cause analysis and investigations. •Ensure that all employees under my supervision have the appropriate P.P.E to carry out their duties. •Keep all records of safety stats & minutes. •Conduct plant and mine inspections. •Log CAR’s and NCR’s onto the SHEQMAN system •Document control •SHEQ meetings. •Conduct housekeeping audits 5S principles (waste management, environmental compliance) •Prepare for audits and ensure that we get a good score in all audits conducted. •Inspect MMU’s legal documentation •Liaise with the client regarding any safety deviations from our side. •Contractors Packs updates and working file audits. •Ensure all safety deviations are closed off. •Present safety stats to EXCO ensure that out TRIR limits are always below the agreed limits. •Handle audits such as KPMG, environmental legal audits.
