Piping Inspector — Qatar (6-Month Contract) Mind Stream is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Piping Inspector to join a major industrial project in Qatar. This is a contract opportunity for a qualified professional with proven expertise in piping inspection across both metallic and Glass Reinforced Plastic (GRP) systems. The successful candidate will play a critical role in upholding quality standards, ensuring full compliance with project specifications, and supporting seamless construction and commissioning activities from installation through final handover. About the Role As Piping Inspector, you will be responsible for executing Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), conducting surveillance across all piping-related construction activities, and coordinating closely with multidisciplinary teams including NDT subcontractors, client representatives, and QA/QC personnel. This role demands a high level of technical knowledge, strong attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of a project organisation. Contract Duration: 6 Months Work Location: Qatar (on-site) Key Responsibilities Execute Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) for metallic and GRP piping systems in strict accordance with project specifications, applicable codes, and quality requirements Verify piping materials, fittings, consumables, and components against approved specifications and material traceability requirements Inspect metallic piping fit-up, alignment, welding activities, and completed welds to ensure compliance with approved welding procedures and quality standards Inspect GRP piping installation, including surface preparation, lamination, joint bonding, curing, and overall workmanship quality Monitor, coordinate, and witness hydrostatic testing, flushing, and other pressure testing activities in accordance with project testing protocols Coordinate and monitor NDT activities, reviewing inspection results and reports for compliance with applicable acceptance criteria Raise, track, and follow up on Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), ensuring corrective and preventive actions are properly implemented and closed out Prepare, review, and verify inspection records, test packages, punch lists, and final handover documentation to meet project completion requirements Liaise and coordinate with construction teams, NDT subcontractors, client representatives, and QA/QC personnel to ensure all project quality objectives are consistently achieved Participate in pre-inspection meetings, walk-downs, and milestone inspections as required throughout the project lifecycle Qualifications & Experience Proven experience as a Piping Inspector within the oil & gas, petrochemical, or industrial construction sector Strong knowledge of metallic piping inspection, welding surveillance, and fabrication quality control processes Hands-on experience with GRP piping inspection, including lamination, joint bonding, and installation quality verification Familiarity with NDT methods including RT, UT, PT, and MT, with the ability to review and interpret inspection reports and assess compliance Solid understanding of Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), quality documentation requirements, and non-conformance management systems Ability to read and interpret piping isometrics, engineering drawings, specifications, and applicable international codes and standards (e.g., ASME, ANSI, ASTM, or equivalent) Excellent communication and coordination skills, with demonstrated experience working alongside multidisciplinary project teams and client representatives Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple inspection activities simultaneously and meet project milestones Why Join Mind Stream?
