About the Role We are seeking a Program Manager & Engineering Liaison to serve as a critical bridge between our customer-facing, commercial, supplier, and engineering functions. This is a high-impact, cross-functional role that supports both business growth and the successful execution of complex technical programs — including significant engagement with China and other international markets. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable discussing technical engineering specifications and navigating commercial negotiations, with the interpersonal skills to build lasting relationships across cultures and disciplines. This position reports to the Vice President, Business Development. Responsibilities Lead and coordinate strategic programs supporting the deployment of Ionada carbon capture systems from concept through implementation Act as the primary liaison between customers, suppliers, business development teams, and engineering — ensuring clear communication, alignment, and accountability across all stakeholders Support sales pursuits, customer engagement initiatives, technical presentations, and proposal development Translate customer requirements into clear, actionable engineering specifications and help prioritize engineering workload accordingly Coordinate supplier identification, qualification, development, and ongoing performance management Manage technical and commercial discussions with both suppliers and customers, driving toward timely and mutually beneficial outcomes Support product customization efforts, implementation planning, and issue resolution throughout the project lifecycle Coordinate program schedules, deliverables, risk registers, and stakeholder communications to keep projects on track Assist with the establishment and ongoing management of operations, partnerships, and business infrastructure in China Travel regularly within Canada and internationally, including approximately six trips to China per year Requirements Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Technology, or a related discipline 5+ years of experience in program management, engineering coordination, technical sales, project management, or a comparable cross-functional role Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders at all organizational levels Experience working with international suppliers and customers across complex, multi-party programs Strong organizational, negotiation, and problem-solving skills with a track record of delivering results under competing priorities Willingness and ability to travel internationally on a regular basis Fluency in Mandarin (spoken and written) is required; experience working in or with China is considered a strong asset Assets (not required, but valued): Experience in carbon capture, industrial process engineering, or chemical process industries Familiarity with establishing or managing business operations in China What We Offer A competitive salary and attractive benefits package A hybrid work arrangement based out of Markham, ON The opportunity to contribute meaningfully to global climate solutions at a company operating at the cutting edge of carbon capture technology A collaborative, mission-driven team environment with opportunities for professional growth as the company scales internationally Ionada is committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace and encourages qualified candidates from all backgrounds to apply.
