Personal Assistant to the CEO | Berea, Durban About Us Adrenergy Research Innovations (ARI) is an award-winning medical research organisation specialising in infectious diseases research, with a particular focus on HIV and TB. About the Role We are seeking a detail-oriented, highly proactive, and professionally polished Personal Assistant to provide comprehensive executive support to our CEO. This is a full-time, permanent position based in Berea, Durban, requiring in-person attendance. This role goes beyond traditional administrative support — you will serve as a trusted partner to the CEO, managing both professional and personal responsibilities with discretion, efficiency, and a solutions-focused mindset. The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic environment, takes initiative, and brings a high level of integrity and reliability to everything they do. Key Responsibilities Managing the CEO's calendar, scheduling meetings, appointments, and travel arrangements Screening and prioritising correspondence including emails, calls, and documents on behalf of the CEO Coordinating logistics for meetings, events, and engagements — both internal and external Preparing reports, presentations, briefs, and other documentation as required Conducting research and compiling information to support decision-making Managing errands and personal tasks for the CEO in a timely and discreet manner Providing driving support as required — transporting the CEO and handling related logistics Liaising professionally with internal staff, academic collaborators, funders, and external stakeholders Assisting with social media management and monitoring relevant developments Supporting basic accounting or financial administration processes where needed Anticipating needs and proactively resolving issues before they escalate Maintaining strict confidentiality across all personal and professional matters Requirements Computer literacy — proficient in email, internet, and Microsoft Office Suite Valid driver's licence with the ability to drive a manual vehicle confidently and safely Strong organisational skills and a logical, structured approach to work Demonstrated ability to prioritise, multitask, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, with minimal supervision Unwavering commitment to confidentiality and professional integrity Proactive, resourceful, and reliable work ethic Strong interpersonal skills and a polished, professional demeanour Willingness and genuine desire to learn and grow within the organisation Advantageous Ability to drive both manual and automatic vehicles confidently Experience with accounting or financial administration processes Familiarity with AI tools and current technological developments Understanding of social media platforms and digital communication Possession of own vehicle What We Offer A permanent, full-time position within a respected and internationally connected research organisation A dynamic, purpose-driven work environment at the forefront of infectious diseases research Exposure to high-level academic, scientific, and institutional networks Opportunity for professional development and growth within the organisation Competitive compensation package Location: Berea, Durban — in-person role How to Apply Only serious candidates are encouraged to apply.
