About the Role Reporting to the Head of Compliance, Health and Safety, you will act as our nominated Transport Manager on the Operator's Licence, taking full accountability for driver, vehicle, and regulatory compliance across the entire transport operation. You'll be a key figure in safeguarding the company's Operator Licence while championing a culture of compliance, safety, and continuous improvement. This is a hands-on, in-person role that sits at the heart of the business — combining day-to-day operational oversight with strategic compliance leadership. Responsibilities Operator Licence Compliance — Act as the nominated Transport Manager, maintain effective management control of the operation, and lead preparation for DVSA and Traffic Commissioner compliance audits Driver Compliance — Monitor driver hours, working time, and tachograph data; manage infringements, conduct driver debriefs and investigations; ensure all driver licences, Driver CPC qualifications, and right-to-work documentation remain valid and up to date Vehicle Compliance — Oversee planned maintenance schedules, MOTs, safety inspections, and defect reporting systems; ensure accurate and complete record-keeping across the fleet Regulatory Compliance — Maintain up-to-date knowledge of UK and European transport legislation, including Driver Hours Regulations, the Working Time Directive, Operator Licensing Regulations, and Driver CPC requirements Auditing and Reporting — Conduct internal compliance audits, produce KPIs and management reports, and implement corrective actions where required International Transport Compliance — Ensure full compliance with UK–EU transport regulations and provide practical support to drivers navigating border procedures Build and maintain a positive compliance culture across the driver workforce through clear communication, fair enforcement, and consistent standards Liaise with external bodies, including the DVSA and vehicle maintenance providers, as required Requirements Proven experience as a Transport Manager within a road haulage or logistics environment Holds — or is actively working towards — a Transport Manager CPC in Road Haulage Strong working knowledge of Operator Licensing, driver hours rules, tachograph legislation, and Driver CPC requirements Proactive, detail-focused approach to compliance management, audit readiness, and risk reduction Confident and effective communicator, capable of managing driver debriefs and investigations fairly and professionally Ability to interpret data, produce clear reports, and present findings to senior stakeholders Experience with UK–EU international transport compliance is desirable but not essential Benefits Competitive salary, dependent on experience 5% employee and 3% employer pension contribution 28 days annual leave inclusive of Bank Holidays Relaxed dress code and a great working environment Access to an Employee Assistance Programme Access to Salary Extras for a wide range of discount codes Genuine development opportunities within a growing business Company-paid events and team-building activities Work Location: In person — Wiltshire If you are a compliance-driven Transport Manager looking for a role where your expertise makes a real difference, we'd love to hear from you.
