Senior Full-Stack Engineer (Mobile App Team)
Location: 100% Remote — Portugal
About the Role
Wire IT is looking for a talented and motivated Senior Full-Stack Engineer to join their growing Mobile App Team. In this role, you will play a key part in designing, building, and maintaining scalable backend systems and React Native mobile applications that deliver real value to end users. You'll work closely with a collaborative, senior engineering team on challenging projects that push the boundaries of modern software development — giving you the opportunity to grow your skills and make a lasting impact.
This is a full-time, permanent position with full remote flexibility, ideal for an experienced engineer who thrives in a dynamic, agile environment and takes pride in writing clean, scalable, and maintainable code.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust backend services and APIs using Node.js and NestJS
- Build and enhance features within React Native mobile applications, collaborating with design and product teams to deliver high-quality user experiences
- Architect and implement scalable backend systems, applying best practices in system design and software architecture
- Manage cloud infrastructure and deployments, primarily on AWS, using Docker for containerization and environment consistency
- Design and optimize PostgreSQL databases, ensuring data integrity, performance, and scalability
- Participate actively in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, code reviews, and retrospectives
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into reliable, performant technical solutions
- Contribute to code quality standards, technical documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives across the engineering team
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, bugs, and technical debt proactively
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in Backend Development, with hands-on experience contributing to React Native projects
- Strong proficiency in TypeScript, Node.js, and NestJS
- Solid experience designing and implementing scalable backend architectures and system design solutions
- Practical experience with Docker and cloud deployments, preferably AWS
- Deep knowledge of PostgreSQL and relational database design principles
- Proven experience developing and maintaining React Native applications
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and modern software development best practices
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a fully remote environment
