We are currently looking for a Windows System Engineer to join the team in a hybrid capacity based in Porto, Portugal.
Responsibilities
As a Windows System Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, managing, and securing Windows-based infrastructure across complex, multi-geography environments. Your day-to-day will include:
- Administering and maintaining Windows Server environments (2019/2022), including domain controllers and clustering solutions
- Managing Active Directory, Group Policy Objects (GPO), LAPS, and security group structures across multi-domain environments
- Developing and maintaining PowerShell scripts and working with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Ansible and Terraform for cross-platform automation and orchestration
- Implementing and managing privileged access workflows using CyberArk PAM and Password Manager Plus
- Ensuring adherence to security compliance frameworks including CIS, NIST, ANSSI, and PingCastle; supporting audit logging and vulnerability management processes
- Managing remote access security via RDP, NLA, and Just-in-Time (JIT) admin access controls
- Overseeing patch management and software deployment using WSUS, SCCM, Patch Manager Plus, and Ivanti, including scripted automation of deployment pipelines
- Applying solid networking fundamentals — TCP/IP, DNS, AD site topology, and VPN — to support infrastructure reliability
- Participating in incident response, change advisory board (CAB) processes, and maintaining thorough technical documentation
- Collaborating effectively across teams and stakeholders in a multi-geography operational context
Requirements
- 5+ years of solid, hands-on experience in Windows systems engineering or a closely related infrastructure role
- Advanced expertise in Windows Server administration, including Server 2019/2022, domain controllers, and clustering
- Advanced knowledge of Active Directory, GPO, LAPS, and security group management in multi-domain environments
- Intermediate to advanced PowerShell scripting skills, with experience in Ansible, Terraform, and infrastructure-as-code methodologies
- Hands-on experience with CyberArk PAM and Password Manager Plus for privileged access management
- Strong understanding of security compliance frameworks (CIS, NIST, ANSSI, PingCastle), audit logging, and vulnerability management
- Experience with RDP, NLA, and JIT admin access for secure remote administration
- Proficiency with WSUS, SCCM, Patch Manager Plus, and Ivanti; experience scripting deployment automation
- Solid grasp of networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, AD site topology, and VPN
- Incident response mindset with strong documentation discipline and change management experience
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with comfort operating across distributed, international teams
