About the Role

Wire IT is looking for an experienced Camunda / BPMN Process Orchestration Consultant to join its growing team. In this role, you will work at the intersection of business process design and technical implementation, helping clients model, automate, and optimise complex workflows using Camunda and related BPM technologies. You will collaborate closely with both technical teams and business stakeholders, translating real-world process challenges into scalable, well-architected solutions.

This is a hybrid position, with flexibility to work from Lisbon, Porto, or Fundão.

Responsibilities

• Design, model, and implement business processes using Camunda (ideally Camunda 8) and BPMN 2.0 standards
• Lead and facilitate process discovery workshops, working with stakeholders to understand existing workflows and identify opportunities for improvement
• Develop and deliver process automation solutions, integrating workflows with REST APIs, microservices, and external enterprise systems
• Collaborate with backend development teams to implement process logic using Java, Spring Boot, or equivalent technologies
• Contribute to process optimisation efforts, analysing performance and recommending architectural or design improvements
• Work within Agile/Scrum delivery frameworks, contributing to sprint planning, reviews, and continuous improvement cycles
• Act as a bridge between business and technical teams, translating process requirements into sound technical designs and communicating outcomes clearly to non-technical stakeholders
• Support integration efforts within distributed systems and enterprise application architectures
• Stay current with developments in the Camunda ecosystem and broader BPM/workflow orchestration space

Requirements

• 5+ years of overall experience, including a minimum of 2 years of hands-on Camunda experience
• Strong, demonstrable proficiency with Camunda, with preference for experience on Camunda 8
• Deep knowledge of BPMN 2.0 and business process modelling principles
• Proven background in workflow orchestration, process automation, or BPM platform implementation
• Ability to conduct end-to-end process discovery, design, and optimisation engagements
• Backend development experience, preferably with Java and Spring Boot or comparable enterprise backend technologies
• Experience integrating workflows with REST APIs, microservices, and third-party systems
• Solid understanding of distributed systems and enterprise application integration patterns
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and collaborative delivery practices
• Strong communication skills — able to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Good command of English, both written and spoken
