We are looking for a Senior Legal Project Manager to join our FutureLaw team, a dedicated function at the heart of how TLT delivers innovative, technology-enabled legal services. This is a high-impact role where you will lead complex legal projects, champion best practice, and help shape the future of legal service delivery at one of the UK's most ambitious law firms. This is a hybrid working role requiring a minimum of three days per week in one of our Birmingham, Manchester or Bristol offices, with occasional travel to other TLT or client locations. Responsibilities Lead the development of matter plans, budgets, timelines, and documentation with clearly defined scopes and assumptions across client matters, transactions, cases, outsourcing arrangements and broader projects Manage matters, projects and outsourcing engagements end-to-end to ensure delivery on time, on budget and within scope — actively managing scope creep and cost control while engaging key stakeholders including clients, partners and internal colleagues Adapt existing project management tools, resources and technologies to the specific needs of different legal practice areas and workstreams Develop and deliver legal project management (LPM) training for lawyers and clients, building capability across the firm Support lawyers in the effective use of LPM tools and technologies, acting as a practical resource and subject matter expert Contribute to proposals and bids where LPM and FutureLaw products are central to the delivery of competitive, high-quality legal services Identify and support process and policy improvements across the LPM function and more broadly across legal service delivery Help develop and sustain a firm-wide culture that is supportive of and conducive to strong legal project management practices Work closely with the Head of LPM to develop the skills and expertise of the legal project management team, with potential line management responsibility for junior colleagues Act as an internal and external advocate for TLT's LPM capability, representing the function with confidence and credibility Requirements Law degree or equivalent qualification Project Management qualification, with a preference for APM (Association for Project Management) Minimum five years' experience in a Project Manager role Knowledge of and hands-on experience with leading project management tools, including MS Project Demonstrated experience managing legal projects independently using established project management methodologies Strong analytical and project management skills, including the ability to interpret client business needs and translate them into clear operational requirements Experience supervising or line managing junior colleagues A solid understanding of legal matter reporting Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint A creative, solutions-focused approach to problem solving with the ability to manage critical issues quickly and effectively Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects without compromising quality or delivery Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the confidence to operate at all levels across legal teams and business services End-to-end experience across a diverse range of legal projects, including litigation, corporate transactions, real estate transactions, contract management and remediation, as well as software and service procurement and implementation, software development, business process review, reorganisation and transformation projects Experience embedding legal technology and other tech solutions within a firm, with a particular focus on change management Experience working in a legal or professional services environment within a project management team A keen interest in and deep understanding of the legal industry and the latest developments in legal services delivery Benefits TLT values its people highly, and that is reflected in an attractive benefits package designed to support your wellbeing, development and work-life balance.
