About the Role
The Solar Operations team at RWE Renewables is at the heart of keeping our solar plants performing at their best. The team is responsible for monitoring and coordinating maintenance activities, tracking plant performance, identifying opportunities for improvement, analyzing equipment failures, and supporting strategic decision-making through data-driven insights.
As an intern within this team, you will be immersed in a wide range of operational and analytical tasks that offer a comprehensive view of how large-scale solar assets are managed day to day. This role is ideal for a motivated student who combines technical curiosity with strong organizational ability and a genuine interest in renewable energy.
Responsibilities
- Analyzing operational data and creating structured reports using SCADA system information
- Developing and improving reporting tools using Power BI, Excel, and SQL to enhance team visibility and decision-making
- Coordinating with on-site teams and collaborating across different internal departments to support smooth plant operations
- Contributing to the improvement of processes related to maintenance planning and operational efficiency
- Participating in internal meetings, cross-functional projects, and innovation initiatives
- Supporting the identification of equipment failures and key operational trends through data analysis
- Assisting in the preparation of reports and analysis that inform operational and strategic decisions
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in ongoing university studies — ideally at third-year undergraduate level or first year of a master's programme
- A balanced combination of technical and management-oriented skills
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to organize multiple tasks effectively
- Basic knowledge of Excel, Power BI, and SQL — or a clear willingness to develop these skills quickly
- Proactive, flexible mindset with a genuine eagerness to learn and contribute
- Fluency in Spanish and a good working level of English
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to draw meaningful conclusions from data
- Good communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration across teams
