Project Manager (Workplace) - Interior Design
KITE Search is partnered with an award-winning international Architecture and Design firm globally respected for cutting-edge design and challenging projects. Following significant new project wins, we are seeking a talented Project Manager specializing in Workplace Interior Design to join our Shanghai studio and lead dynamic project teams.
What You Will Do
• Collaborate closely with Studio Directors and leadership team members
• Lead the design process from concept development through implementation
• Ensure quality and consistency of design solutions while coordinating with engineering disciplines
• Partner with Local Design Institutes (LDI) to maintain design integrity throughout project execution
• Mentor and develop both expatriate and local team members through formal and informal guidance
• Foster collaborative relationships and support professional growth across the studio
Your Qualifications
• 7+ years of experience in workplace project design
• Degree in Interior Design from an accredited program
• Portfolio showcasing completed commercial office and corporate interior projects with demonstrated project management and client relationship responsibilities
• Proven experience developing relationships with new and existing clients
• Background in directing significant corporate/office projects, including those with design excellence criteria
• Experience in collaborative management of corporate/office practice groups or studios
• Strong leadership abilities with track record of building successful internal and external relationships
• Creative strategy development and innovative problem-solving capabilities
• Management approach emphasizing collaboration, consensus, and process-oriented design
• Excellent presentation skills (written, oral, and graphic) with ability to articulate ideas convincingly
• Commitment to sustainable design principles with practical integration experience
• Proficiency in AutoCAD; experience with BIM and Revit highly advantageous
• Ability to create nurturing environments through effective coaching and mentoring
• Strong oral and written communication skills
Design Technology Qualifications
• Understanding of BIM project lifecycle from design through construction and operational phases
• Experience establishing and managing BIM teams for project design and delivery
• Background managing design teams with Revit/Rhino/Grasshopper expertise
• Knowledge of BIM deliverables and contract terminology
