About the Role

Are you charismatic, outgoing, and passionate about sharing the beauty of Coimbra with travellers from around the world? We are looking for enthusiastic and engaging Tour Guides to lead visitors through one of Portugal's most historic and culturally rich cities. This is a fantastic opportunity for people who love meeting new people, telling great stories, and creating truly memorable experiences.

This is a part-time, in-person role with a flexible schedule — ideal for those who thrive in social environments and want to be part of a vibrant, international team.

Responsibilities

• Lead small groups of visitors through Coimbra's most iconic landmarks, hidden gems, and cultural highlights
• Deliver engaging, informative, and entertaining commentary that brings the city's history and culture to life
• Ensure every guest feels welcome, comfortable, and genuinely looked after throughout the tour
• Adapt your communication style to suit diverse audiences, including different nationalities, ages, and interests
• Manage group logistics smoothly, including timekeeping, crowd navigation, and guest queries
• Represent the company professionally and enthusiastically at all times
• Stay up to date with local history, events, and points of interest to continuously enrich the guest experience

Requirements

• A friendly, warm, and outgoing personality with a natural ability to connect with people
• Genuine enthusiasm for Coimbra, its history, and its culture
• Strong verbal communication skills — the ability to captivate and hold an audience's attention
• Reliability and punctuality — guests are counting on you
• Comfortable working with diverse, international groups
• A team-player mindset with a positive, can-do attitude
• Previous experience in tourism, hospitality, customer service, or public speaking is a plus, but not essential — we welcome motivated newcomers eager to learn
• Proficiency in English is required; additional languages are a significant advantage
