Located in Dhahran on the Arabian Gulf, KFUPM is a prestigious English-medium university of science, technology, and business. The English Language Department is one of the university's most active academic units, typically serving 25% of the total student body each semester. About the English Language Department The ELD delivers four core undergraduate English courses designed to develop students' academic, professional, and communicative competencies: An Introduction to Academic Discourse — Freshmen composition, reading comprehension, and academic vocabulary development An Introduction to Report Writing — Source-based writing, presentation skills, and term report preparation Academic and Professional Communication — Advanced research and report writing, job-seeking strategies, business correspondence, and presentation skills Career Essentials — Interviewing skills, corporate culture awareness, and creative problem solving Responsibilities The academic calendar comprises two 15-week semesters (fall and spring), each followed by a two-week final examination period.
